🚲 Traveling by Bike – Accueil Vélo
The Mayan-Montalivet Campground is accessible by bike via the Vélodyssée / EV1, which passes through Montalivet-les-Bains.
From Montalivet-les-Bains, take the bike path toward Vendays-Montalivet. There are then two routes to the campground:
Shortest Route – 6.4 km
It is marked in red on the map. At the Pont de la Brède bridge, the route follows a short stretch of the Route de Montalivet, then turns left toward Mayan. In Mayan, turn right to reach the campground.
Safest Route – 7.7 km
Shown in blue on the map, this route is slightly longer but allows youto avoid riding on Route de Montalivet —you’ll only cross it. We especially recommend it for families, cyclists with heavy luggage, or anyone who prefers a more peaceful ride.
Both routes lead to Camping Mayan-Montalivet—3 Route de Mayan.
🥾 Hiking and the Coastal Trail
The Mayan-Montalivet Campground also serves as a starting point for exploring the forests and coastline of the Médoc on foot.
The Voie du Littoral, a route frequently taken by pilgrims on the Way of St. James and connected to the GR®8 trail network, passes through Montalivet-les-Bains.
From the campground, it’s about a 6-km walk to Montalivet-les-Bains, with several possible routes through the Mayan area and the forest.
Before setting out, be sure to check the access conditions for the trails and forest areas.
